We at Honor are ready for fall. With cool weather, chai tea lattes, and cozy sweaters on our minds, we thought we would continue our branding chronicles with one of our favorite fashion clients, COZeCO.
CONCEPT
COZeCO started out as a dream, a way of creating conscious and beautiful pieces that feel comfortable on your body. Created by Whitney Port, we helped her with the name COZeCO for her new company and started the branding process. COZeCO partnered with Alvin Studio, a women-owned, eco-friendly fashion company. Together they were able to reduce the environmental impact and make conscious and cozy fashion choices.
As Whitney’s dream became a reality, these words were consistent with the brand: “Consciously made, purposefully designed.” A brand is not just a logo. It is an emotional connection with your audience. It represents the values, services, ideas, and personality of your company.
BRAND WORDS
“Purposefully Designed” was something we kept in our heads during this process that represented the values and personality of the company. The words that swirled around COZeCO during the design process were:
Colorful
Inclusive
Strong
Natural
Comfortable
BRAND COLORS
As COZeCO was coming together, we knew an important part of this brand was the color. Not only because this brand is in the fashion industry, but because color is emotional. Color is a way of expressing your brand. We wanted to tie in natural comfortable colors while also having unique hints of color to make it stand out.
Having those neutrals were crucial to this brand, but we wanted to tie in a conscious sustainable feel with olive green, and quirky creativity with the lavender.
ILLUSTRATION
Another part of this design process was the illustration. Whitney desired a line illustration that was harmonious and imaginative, gender neutral, and a part of the brand that could be subtly used throughout the brand and other collateral.
FINAL BRAND ELEMENTS
As we focused on typography, brand imagery, color, and illustration, these ideas rose above the others.
We wanted something lowercase, to show that effortless, natural feeling across the products too. Modern serifs, special kerning, shapes, and letters started coming together with our team.
Using a modern serif with focused kerning, we created the COZeCo brand.
